I wish I had a legit recipe for you today, because this tuna steak was absolutely amazing. I found frozen yellowfin tuna steaks on sale at Target over the weekend and decided to be adventurous and try them out. I'm usually iffy on tuna, but with Johnny back in classes I need easy and quick meals for one during the week. This meal is it: a quick grilled piece of fish, some spices, and a zucchini. Seriously, that's it.
- I made the sauce using sesame oil, low-sodium soy sauce, and a little bit of sriracha. I'm sure you can sub in olive oil if you don't have sesame oil laying around like I do (from a failed experiment with miso and seitan last year).
- I used a peeler to ribbon a zucchini and tossed the strips with pepper and a very light pinch of salt.
- I brushed the sauce on the tuna and grilled it on the Foreman grill for two minutes on each side. Then, I let the tuna rest for five minutes before topping with sesame seeds and any leftover sauce.
That's all I did. The tuna was the perfect shade of red inside, and the sauce was super tasty. The ribboned zucchini was the perfect salad to go with it. This was simple, quick, and perfect for a weeknight dinner.
